Dr. Joy Zeglinski, MD, FRCP(C)
Psychiatrist

Dr. Joy Zeglinski is a Canadian psychiatrist who initially trained and qualified in family medicine (McGill) with a 6 year practice in a multicultural community health centre (South East Ottawa CHC).  She was particularly interested in health promotion/prevention.  Her  focus on mind and body eventually led her to retrain in psychiatry (Ottawa).  Since 2007, she has worked as a  licensed psychiatrist in Ottawa, Ontario.  

Her psychiatric training with the University of Ottawa provided her with a Biopsychosocial approach to mental illness including supervised psychotherapy training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Brief Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic long term Psychotherapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (couples), Play Therapy and Family therapy (pediatric).  She completed a fellowship in Women's Mental Health with an additional focus on anxiety, trauma (developmental, occupational, and health traumas), complex dissociation (including DID) and eating disorders.  

She has additional post-graduate training in Group psychotherapy, Expressive arts therapy (dance/art/music/Drama-an interweave of the arts for therapy), EMDR, Brainspotting, and mindfulness.  She works in private practice with the Ottawa Anxiety and Trauma Clinic, providing psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care to adults with complex histories and needs.
