Dr. Nikki Kennedy, ph.d., c.psych

Nikki is a registered psychologist who provides psychological services to adult individuals and couples who are experiencing a range of difficulties, including relationship distress, trauma, depression, anxiety, poor self-esteem/ self-worth, interpersonal problems, and adjustment to major life transitions or chronic illness.

Nikki’s treatment framework is integrative, and fosters a warm, collaborative approach to the identification of goals and development of treatment strategies tailored to clients' specific needs. Nikki endeavours to provide a safe, open, and nurturing therapeutic environment to help clients feel understood and accepted. Her clinical work draws from emotionally focused, experiential, interpersonal and cognitive-behavioural approaches to treatment. 

Nikki earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2017. She has had a broad range of clinical experiences, providing assessment and treatment in various settings, including the Ottawa Couple and Family Institute, the Centre for Psychological Services and Research at the University of Ottawa; the HIV Clinic, and Eating Disorders Program at the Ottawa Hospital; the Family Medicine Unit at the Montfort Hospital; the Mood Disorders Program at the Royal Ottawa Hospital; and the Elmgrove Mental Health Clinic in Brockville.

Nikki continues her professional development through peer consultation and supervision, by participating in workshops, attending conferences and staying current with the scientific literature. She is a member of several professional organizations.
