Dr. Lian Parry, D.Psych, C.Psych

Dr. Lian Parry is an Australian-trained Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience working with adults and couples across public and private practice settings. Dr. Parry has experience with a range of client presentations including anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, grief and loss, workplace stress and relationship issues. She has a particular interest in posttraumatic stress reactions and has provided psychological services to current and former-serving members of the military, refugees and asylum seekers in immigration detention, and survivors of sexual assault and childhood trauma. Dr. Parry has broad international experience having lived and worked across Australia, Europe, South America and Southeast Asia, and she enjoys collaborating with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

In her clinical work, Dr. Parry adopts a warm, collaborative and compassionate approach, grounded in research and underpinned by the highest standards of professional and ethical practice. Dr. Parry draws upon a range of evidence-based therapies and interventions, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and compassion-focussed interventions and Gottman Couples Counselling Method. The choice of therapeutic approach is made collaboratively with each client following a comprehensive assessment, taking into consideration their unique situation, goals and preferences.

Dr. Parry obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Australian National University in Canberra. She is registered as a clinical and counselling psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and maintains memberships with the Ottawa Academy of Psychologists (OAP), the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). Dr. Parry is also a Member of the International Society of Schema Therapy with certification as an Advanced Level Schema Therapist (Individuals).

Dr. Parry works part-time in the clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, offering in-person and online appointments.
